“Art on the
Lawn” -- the popular outdoor festival of art, food, and music -- is
in its thirty-second year! This year, approximately 100 artists will
gather under the shade trees in the heart of Yellow Springs, to show
and sell their wares.
Both new and
returning artists will display a variety of jewelry, papercraft,
paintings, drawings, photography, caricatures, candles, garden and
yard art, ceramics, glass, pressed flowers, fiber art, leather
accessories, scarves, and more.
Food vendors and
music complement the outstanding artwork.
Bob Pozarski is
the featured artist at this year’s event. An architectural glass
artist since 1976, Bob won Best of Show at last year’s “Art on
the Lawn.” He teaches classes at the Peninsula Art Academy in
Peninsula, Ohio, and he has won numerous awards for his art glass
windows. Pozarski
makes windows that are works of contemporary art, incorporating
rounded pieces of blown glass, prisms, pressed-glass tiles and fused
glass, made by melting two or more types of glass together in a kiln.
"Most of these windows are just excuses to show off my homemade
glass," he said.
Come see his exquisite work at this year’s show!
“Village
Artisans” is not only the name of the cooperative, but is also the
name
of their
gallery/shop, located at 100 Corry Street in Yellow Springs, which
houses the varied artwork of eighteen local member-artists.
