WHEN: Saturday, August 13, 2022, 10 am-5 pm
WHERE: Grounds of Mills Lawn School, 200 S. Walnut Street, Yellow Springs, Ohio
More than 75 artists from Ohio and beyond will gather under the shade trees at 200 S. Walnut St. in the heart of Yellow Springs, Ohio, to show and sell their original, fine arts and fine crafts at this year's Art on the Lawn on Saturday, August 13, from 10 am-5 pm, rain or shine. This popular, free, outdoor festival of art, food and music, now in its thirty-seventh year, is sponsored by Village Artisans Gallery of Yellow Springs. Both new and returning artists will present their ceramics, drawings, fiber art, garden art, glass, jewelry, leatherwork, mixed media, paper craft, paintings, photography and more. Food vendors and live music complement the outstanding, juried artwork.
Of the 75 artists, approximately two-thirds are returning artists while the rest are new to this show.
Returning this year is Art on the Lawn’s Featured Artist Jeff Smith of the Art of Frozen Time Studio, photographer from Spring Valley, who won Best of Show at the 2021 Art on the Lawn.
Smith was a pilot with the Air Force for 24 years. Now, he says, “after a fun career, I moved back to Dayton where I’m pursuing my second passion: landscape photography!”
Smith is largely self-taught, specializing in landscape photographs. Smith says sunset and twilight are his favorite times of day to capture, but it’s not always easy. “Occasionally,” he explains, “after many failed trips, I’ll experience a fleeting moment when it all comes together; where patience, anticipation and preparation produce stunning scenes which evoke awe and excitement.”
Three hundred and forty of Smith’s prints currently hang on the walls of hospitals, physicians’ offices, and professional spaces throughout the Miami Valley. The United States Postal Service selected one of Smith’s images to be included as selvage in a series of stamps due out in May of 2022.

Dogs and other pets are kindly requested to remain away from the fair. Typical August temperatures and crowds with children make the fair an unsafe place for pets.
