41st Annual Art on the Lawn

WHEN: Saturday, August 9, 2025, 10 am-5 pm

WHERE: Just east of 118 East North College Street (the corner of Livermore and East Center College Street), Yellow Springs, Ohio (same as last year)

More than 75 artists from Ohio and beyond will gather under the shade trees in Yellow Springs, Ohio, to show and sell their original, fine arts and fine crafts at this year’s Art on the Lawn on Saturday, August 9, from 10 am-5 pm, rain or shine. This popular, free, outdoor festival of art, food and music, now in its forty-first year, is sponsored by Village Artisans Gallery of Yellow Springs. Both new and returning artists will present their ceramics, drawings, fiber art, garden art, glass, jewelry, leatherwork, mixed media, paper craft, paintings, photography and more. Food vendors and live music complement the outstanding, juried artwork.

Of the more than 75 artists, approximately two-thirds are returning artists while the rest are new to this show. Returning this year is Art on the Lawn’s Featured Artist Suzi Hyden, a multi-faceted artist from Urbana, OH. Hyden won Best of Show at the 2024 Art on the Lawn. Hyden is primarily a cyanotype artist. Hyden explains, “I am a cyanotype artist whose work celebrates the environment by combining elements from nature and repurposed materials. I use native wildflowers and other objects I find in nature to create my cyanotypes, an alternative photographic process which is also known as sun printing or blueprinting. In addition, I show my love for nature by repurposing materials for my art. I often use vintage fabrics, papers, and metal as the substrates and framing for my cyanotypes.”

While Hyden is primarily a cyanotype artist she offers a variety of products using this unique art form. She has participated in workshops, demonstrations, presentations, solo and group exhibitions in Dayton, Columbus, Springfield, and Yellow Springs.

Hyden states, “I started my life as an artist as a child, taking classes in school and at the Springfield Museum of Art.” She returned to practicing art during lockdown in 2020 and has a BFA with an emphasis in photography from the University of Cincinnati.

She also is an active member in a number of arts organizations where she leads workshops for children and adults of all ability levels. To get a sneak peek of Hydens work, visit www.suzihydencyanotypeart.com.

Dogs and other pets are kindly requested to remain away from the fair. Typical August temperatures and crowds with children make the fair an unsafe place for pets.
