I can't believe it has a been a week since Art On the Lawn has come and gone, and we had another wonderful show. This year we had the largest turn out of artists since the show became a juried event. I heard a lot of comments from guests appreciating the quality of the artists' work. Thank you to all the participating artists for helping make our show a success.

The last few years we've had beautiful weather, and this year mother nature smiled on us again by giving us another rain free day. However, I think she finally decided that it was summer and turned up the heat a bit. The tall shade trees of Mills Lawn helped the customers escape the heat a bit. and there seemed to be a steady flow of customers all day long. Even with the warm temperatures most people had a great attitude and shared in my sentiment. "We shouldn't complain. It IS August after all." Thank you to everyone in the community that came out and braved the heat to support the arts.

It was wonderful seeing all twenty-two members of Village Artisans there pitching in to make sure the artists were taken care of. It was an amazing group effort. Big thank you's to everyone.

There is a tremendous amount of work involved in putting on a art fair. As someone in our group said, it takes a village put on an art fair. That it does

ATC Show:  "SIZE DOES MATTER SHOW"

 Set Up:  Please have work at VA by Saturday, June 27th.

  The work will be displayed at the gallery for the month of July and  then face-to-face trading at the end of the month, Friday, July 31  from  6-9 pm. and Saturday, August 1 from 1-4 p.m.  If

 you can not be  at the trading sessions in person, your ATC will be mailed to you by  August 8th.   There will be two workshops hosted/sponsored by Village Artisans.  A  $15.00 fee includes free ATC kit and light refreshments.  You do not  have to attend the 

workshops to participate in the SIZE DOES MATTER  SHOW.  The 

workshops are designed to "help" those that have never  created

 an ATC and will be able to work 

with local artists.  Workshop dates:  Saturday, May 9th from 1-4 p.m. and July 18th from 1-4 p.m.    

There will be face-to-face trading at the end of the workshops or  wor

k can be left for inclusion in the SIZE DOES MATTER SHOW.  

Village Artisans is an established art  co-op (26 years) in the beautiful village of Yellow Springs, located in west-central Ohio.  Yellow Springs is known for its great  restaurants, unique shops, hiking and biking.  The VA is an active, community-involved art co-op.  Art should be shared with everyone.
