About Village Artisans

The Village Artisans, a cooperative of local artists, was founded in the heart of historic Yellow Springs more than 20 years ago. Located in the Corry Street Shops, the Village Artisans provides Yellow Springs with unique handmade art at affordable prices. The Artisans goal is to sustain interest and excitement for the arts through our artwork, exhibits and demonstrations.

In addition to a large selection of fine arts and fine crafts, each year we sponsor Art on the Lawn the second Saturday in August. This event is a juried outdoor show featuring handmade art from over 100 artists from all over the country.

Centrally located between Columbus and Cincinnati in southwestern Ohio, Yellow Springs is known for its nature preserves, distinctive shops and unique array of casual and fine dining. The Little Miami Scenic Trail Bike Path passes through Yellow Springs, which is also home to Antioch College, Glen Helen Nature Preserve, John Bryan State Park and Young's Jersey Dairy.

Art on the Lawn -by Crystal

Can you believe it has been a whole month since Art on the Lawn?
Having been with the artisans for almost 10 years now, I can honestly say, I think this year was my favorite. First, it felt like a bit of a homecoming for me,  seeing so many familiar, friendly faces from the participating artists. I spent a good bit of the day just going around and catching up with everyone.  Second, the quality of work that was on display was incredible. Third, the weather was absolutely perfect. Finally, everything ran so smoothly throughout the day. The whole atmosphere was creatively energetic, yet relaxed. There was a good shopping crowd, which was surprising given our economic times.  Many of the vendors commented that even if the customers weren't buying art, they often asked questions and seemed genuinely interested in what the artists were doing.  I got so much positive feed back from the exhibitors. They seemed to really appreciate all the hard work Village Artisans puts in to put on the show. Way to go team!

Congratulations to this year's Best in Show, Amy Beeler-Harmon!
