Lowell Converse just won Best of Category-Woodturning at the 2009 Dayton Artistry in Wood.
This is Lowell's winning piece.
The piece is made of Amboyna burl and ebony. It is 6" diameter and 15" tall. Amboyna burl is an "exotic" wood which comes from southeast Asia.
